So Bad It's Good jam


The So Bad It's Good jam sounded interesting, so I joined. I had this idea about an old 1990's educational computer game, but it didn't actually like you learning anything. With the modifier for the jam being "genre fakeout", I decided to have some of the levels include elements from OTHER styles of games.  

As I worked on it, I started with the goal of having code as abstracted and reusable as possible. For the first 3 levels, which are fairly normal, this worked great. But then I started having these weird ideas, and had to create subclasses (subnodes?) that basically rewrote everything they inherited from. By the last 2 levels, I just duplicated the scenes and changed basically everything. It happens.

Looking at the code now... it's a mess. So I know I have the "So bad..." part down, but now I'm hoping to see the "... it's good" part.
